The Nova Scotia Practice Ready Assessment Program (NSPRAP) is pleased to announce that four internationally -trained physicians have successfully completed their assessments and been granted defined licences by the College of Physicians and Surgeons to practice family medicine in the communities of Elmsdale, Glace Bay, Port Hawkesbury and Shelburne.
The NSPRAP is funded by the Department of Health and Wellness, supported by the Department of Family Medicine, and works closely with the Nova Scotia Health Authority and the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia. Its mandate is to ensure that those internationally-trained physicians who are eligible for licensure possess the appropriate clinical skills and knowledge to provide compassionate and competent patient care to those residing in under-served communities in Nova Scotia.
